Filling Orders and Ready for some New Ideas----Remembering Craft Shows in the Fall

Working in the shop today----not unlike any other, really----but, as I am answering etsy messages, and checking my fabric stock, and sewing orders for shipping, I remember our life this time of year when the children were young.  You see, there were no computers then, no online sales, I really think there was not even a word "online".....and, yet, we marketed our wares...we were artists then (we did not know it, though)...we just worked and looked forward to this time of year----to be able to pull out all the stops and work hard and long hours getting ready for "craft shows"....our market.  The autumn season was the perfect setting for our array of snowmen, santas, angels, and anything and everything old world Christmas.  From quilted stockings to 5 foot tall Santas and Snowmen....mantle blocks and ornaments...trinket boxes and our displays----yes, our shoppers always wanted to buy our displays.  We were country when country wasn't cool---we had shabby things cause that's how we rolled, it's what we had...so our displays were tables that Bobby made from old doors...and barnboard shelves---just bits and pieces of our lives---simple and country.  Our children lived that life with us----not sure that they loved "craft show season", but it was the time of year that we flourished at our market.

So, I am so thrilled that our daughter was accepted to show at the Vintage Holiday Market in Birmingham, Alabama this fall...it will be quite the experience and learning opportunity for her and her 2 "elves"----they are all so excited, especially the boys----they are a major help to Lauren's shop---and, do they take their job seriously!

You can see more info about the show on facebook...

Now---back to the shop----finished this sweet, long ruffled 18"x18" baby pink pillow sham for a client---what a darling baby girl shower gift!  I have the same handkerchief washed linen in pale blue for a different pastel.

Heavy weight bright white linen chair seat cushions----with Turkish corner boxing and zip closures---just insert your feather/down pillow.

Machine wash and dry.

Easy clean-up.

Thank you for considering my etsy shop---I would love to sew for you and your home!  I appreciate my clients!
